Chapter 79 - HIBI

Minho strode through the corridor confidently. Yuna’s bedroom door was shut tightly, and a maid had her ear against the thin paper sliding door. The maid was so focused on trying to hear what was happening inside, she didn’t realize that there were people standing right behind her. Minho waved his hand in the air to let his servant know that he wanted her out of the way.

His servant silently nodded and proceeded to grab the girl by her sleeve. The maid shouted in surprise but was cut short by the servant’s swift movements. He hit the side of her neck and she passed out without a sound. Minho pointed at the sliding door. The servant didn’t even bother opening the door like a normal person.

He smashed the door in and strolled in. Minho scowled at his servant for being so stupid. Why couldn’t his servants be smarter? What would happen if his soon to be wife was disappointed in him? Yuna might think that he’s a brute for barging into her room like this.

Before entering her bedroom, he fixed his clothes and hair. He needed to look his best to get her attention. He assumed that no woman could withstand his attractiveness. Minho strode in with arrogance, believing that Yuna wouldn’t be mad over his servant’s stupidity.

Once her bed was in view, he noticed that there was an Ezraen girl beside her bed. His eyes landed on the girl’s face. She looked familiar. On closer inspection, he discovered that she wasn’t just familiar, he knew who she was! She’s Jonathon Harris’ daughter, Sun. His handsome face instantly changed into a scowl.

He shouted, “What the h*ll are you doing here? I thought you were sold off to some old man. You should be living the life of a miserable slave!” His hands were clenched tightly into fists. Her attire proved that she was living a good life. She wore a green hanbok that was made with high-quality silk. Even he had trouble finding good-quality silk. His father did not see him as the favorite son, so he wasn’t given luxury goods. His brothers were able to easily obtain high-quality silk and goods, but he had to struggle to get anything similar.

She used to look thin and malnourished, but now her skin was glowing, and her cheeks were plump from eating normal meals. There wasn’t even an ounce of misery in her expression. She looked to be living a better life than him. He wanted to rip her hanbok to shreds and make sure she was wearing only a sack like the clothes she wore when he tortured her.

Her scraggily unkempt hair was now long, and it glistened in the sunlight. He wanted to cut off all of that sparkly blonde hair and make sure she was ashamed of her own dirty blood. His insides burned with anger when he noticed that she had the exact same expression as when he first met her. She had a fiery gaze that could rip his insides out. He could sense the hatred from deep within his bones. No matter how much she hated him, he knew that he hated her even more.

She coldly stated, “Sorry to disappoint you, but I haven’t suffered like you wanted. I’ll never let you get away with what you did.” Minho smirked, “Do you think you have the power? You are nothing, but a miserable rat that hasn’t learned its place!” She laughed coldly at his statement, “My place? You have no right to say what my place is. If it weren’t for you, my family would not have been executed and I would be living the life of a noble lady.”

He knew that she came from a noble family, but that didn’t change anything. She was still beneath him, especially with that despicable Ezraen blood. He thundered, “It doesn’t matter that you were born as a noble, you are still nothing compared to me! I’m royalty and whatever I want becomes reality! A mere war-slave has nothing to say to the likes of me! I would like to see what power you have to oppose me!”

Sun despised him to the core. She leapt at him and bit down on his hand. She didn’t let go no matter how much he hit her. His skin tore and blood began dripping on the floor. He finally got her to let go by kicking her in the ribs. His hand was injured horribly, and the red teeth mark covered his entire hand.

While looking for a cloth to wrap his hand with, he noticed that Yuna was laying on the bed unconscious. There was a needle stuck to her arm and blood was oozing out from her arm. What could this Ezraen girl be doing inside his wife’s bedroom? He suspected that this girl may be planning on assassinating Yuna. His plans would be foiled if Yuna died.

He shouted in fury, “What have you done to my wife? How dare you sneak in here like a rat! I’ll have you executed!” Sun got up from the ground and spat at him, “What wife? She doesn’t belong to you!” Her statement infuriated him to no end. He pointed at Sun and shouted at his servants, “DETAIN HER AT ONCE!” The brawny servant leapt forward and tackled Sun to the ground. Sun struggled to get away in time.

Minho’s servant had her pinned to the ground. There was no way she was going to get away easily. While Minho was trying to get the needle out of Yuna’s arm, Sun pulled out the test tube from her secret pocket and let it roll under the bed. She couldn’t let Minho find out that she had a sample of Yuna’s blood on her. It was a good thing that she had an extra sample in her pocket, otherwise there would be no way of finding out what the poison was.

The only downside to leaving the blood sample on the ground was that the sample would expire within 12 hours. She needed to find a way to escape within that time, so she could test the sample. She knew how cruel Minho could be and it would be impossible to escape his grasp. She needed General Eunho to come and save her. The only thing she could do was hope that he would find out what happened and come to her rescue as soon as possible.
